Make no mistake, the midterms were NOT the result of a shift in voter belief toward the Republican Party. Nor do a majority of Americans genuinely wish to grant the GOP any second chances. The "2010 Wave" was not a wave of Republican sentiment. It was merely a wave of the 08 Obama voters, as they passed by the polls on their way home. Many voters who had given the Dems their leads in 06 and 08, were dissillusioned by the health care fight. They watched sixty votes become worthless in the Senate. First Read correctly aludes to this in mentioning that in every battleground state, the percentage of 08 Obama voters was under 50. However, this reality can be further verified by looking at the percentage of registered Dems that actually voted vs. the same percentage relating to the Reps.
